I met Pamela a few years ago at an ACFW conference and it’s been fun to watch her career take off over the last few years! Today I’m thrilled to have her here to share a bit about herself and tell us about her debut novel, Thyme For Love!

Who are you?

I am a woman, born in Ohio and raised in Wisconsin, who after living a while as a young adult on both coasts, returned to her Midwest roots. I now live in the northwest burbs of Chicago, but am only an hour’s drive away from my hometown of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

It wasn’t until I moved back to the Midwest that God got a hold of me for good. As the Bible says, once caught by Him, no one can snatch us out of His hand. So, there I’ve happily stayed ever since.

During an accelerated adult bachelor’s degree program at Trinity International University, I enrolled in writing classes and thus began my very long excursion into the world of writing for publication. I often joke that when my journey began, gas was $1.15/gallon and Bill Clinton was in the White House, and last November when my debut novel, Thyme for Love, released the price was pushing toward $4.00/gallon.

During those years, despite receiving many rejections, I persevered in learning the craft by joining American Christian Fiction Writers and attending writers’ conferences. Many times I asked God if I misunderstood His intent for my life, and almost always the answer came in the form of an encouragement such as a request for a full manuscript to keep on and be patient. Not always an easy thing to do.

Where I am Now:

The year 2011 began as any other year. Busy with writing, serving my church and ACFW. In May, my agent, Terry Burns, called and with an excited voice announced that Ramona Tucker from OakTara Publishing wanted to buy Thyme for Love!! Just like that I was a published author. After my screams and tears subsided and Terry and I said our goodbyes, I sat on my couch dumbfounded, praising and thanking God for His blessing.

But that’s not all. In August, Rachel Meisel at Summerside Press, offered me a contract for Love Finds You in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. I’d penned the 1933 historical romance a couple years earlier, but then had to wait about two years for acceptance. What a blessing and honor to be able to see a story I’d set in my hometown become published.

In October, Ramona offered a contract extension for two more books as sequels to the first story. I signed the extended contract in January of 2012. God certainly blessed my socks off last year, and I’m excited to see what comes next.

Where Am I Going?

The Bible tells us that God has plans for each of us. Plans not to cause calamity, but to give us a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11) and I fully believe He is the only One who knows for sure what my future holds in my writing career and life in general.

I can’t think of any other hands I’d want my future in than His.

About Thyme For Love

April Love has always dreamed of being a chef.

But she didn’t expect her former fiancé

or murder to be part of the recipe for her new job.

When April Love signs on to be an in-house chef at an old lakeshore mansion in Canoga Lake, Wisconsin, she comes face to face with her long-lost love, the drop-dead gorgeous Marc Thorne. It doesn’t take long for their old magnetism to recharge, but how can she trust the guy who left her nearly at the altar eight years earlier? Her gut tells her something happened to Marc in between—something he’s reluctant to reveal.

When April’s boss is murdered, Marc is accused of the crime. Unless April can find out who really killed Ramón Galvez, her chances for love will end up at the county jail. But someone else is just as determined she not solve the mystery…and will go to any length to stop her.
